Marketing Assistant



Are you ready for an exciting career in the performing arts?


We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person with proven marketing skills to join the Business Partnerships and Marketing team at Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO), Auckland’s largest performing arts organisation.


The Marketing Assistant will play an important role in supporting the marketing, advertising and promotion of the events, activities and profile of the APO. With over 50 concerts and events each year the APO is a busy and vibrant place to work.


To be successful in this role you will need to be a great communicator with a proactive attitude and the ability to multitask. Some experience of event marketing and a passion for the performing arts is desirable.

Deputy Librarian



The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is the city’s only full time orchestra and presents around 100 performances and events annually.


We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Deputy Librarian to join our small, but high performing Artistic Planning Team.


Your ability to contribute to the managing and controlling of a music library to the highest international standards will be critical to succeeding in this role. You will also have an understanding and experience of working with copyright compliance.


Reporting to the Librarian, you will play a key role in the success of the APO and its activities by managing the preparation and supply of all scores and parts.

Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive / Office Manager


The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO), Auckland’s leading performing arts organisation, is seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to take on the role of Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive and Office Manager.


This interesting and varied role requires a self-starter with exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to provide fast, professional support to the Chief Executive, Board and Senior Managers.  We are an exciting and dynamic organisation that operates in the heart of Auckland’s creative sector, and your ability to multi-task and deal with pressure will make you an integral part of the team.


This is a permanent full-time role based in the historic Auckland Town Hall.

Casual Positions

Please note Casual work is only available to New Zealand and Australian Citizens and Residents.
Instrumentalists seeking casual work with the Auckland Philharmonia are invited to apply by forwarding a copy of current resume/CV and all contact details to: The Orchestra Manager:


There are no set dates for casual auditions. Live auditions are scheduled at mutually suitable times throughout the year, or you may be invited to send a recording. Either way your details will be held on file until the orchestra has a need for more casual players of your instrument.



What we mean when we say “Open to New Zealand and Australian Citizens and Residents”

These positions are currently only open to applicants who have the legal right to work in New Zealand. This may include holders of NZ work permits depending of the specific details of the work permit. Please check with the Orchestra Manager in this instance. A further audition for this position, open to international applicants, may be held if the position is not able to be filled at this audition. Should this be the case, an announcement will be made on our website regarding a further audition which will then be open to international applicants.
