APO Partnership with Schools – APOPS

Our professional musicians visit schools to share their expertise, passion and enthusiasm for music and mentoring young people.

Students can

• experience classical music up close
• interact and work with APO mentors to grow their own skills and knowledge
• join professional musicians on collaborative projects working towards combined performances
• hear APO ensembles at their school as string, wind or brass quintets present interactive concerts
• have their original compositions played by our musicians, workshopped and recorded by our musician

All partnership schools attend an APO Education concert with transport and preferential seating included.

Era Experience

APOPS school students can experience an historical era through music and dance. In 2013, we focus on the Baroque era.

Three APO musicians visit your school with Baroque era instruments and perform as well as accompany students who learn a simple Baroque dance. A powerpoint presentation that shows images of the time offers a great lead-up to the visit, and one of our musicians can also return to your school for a follow-up visit.
