Young Achievers Recital
CONNECTING IN ACTION WEEK
9 May, 7 August, and 23 November
Recently renovated, the Auckland Town Hall organ is an extraordinary instrument, now including two new Maori stops created especially at the request of City Organist John Wells.
Six New Zealand composers have been paired with six local organists to create new works for the APO and the Auckland Town Hall organ. Our Composer-in-Residence Jack Body will provide feedback for composers during the composition process, and the composers have three interactive workshop sessions where they can hear their music played and receive feedback from APO musicians and conductor Hamish McKeish.
The finished works will be performed in concert on 2 May 2013.
